Company management

Management of the company is split between shareholders Andrea Modersohn and Andreas Meisner.

Andrea Modersohn studied linguistics, sociology and business administration at Tübingen University in Germany. She founded oneword GmbH ten years ago where she focuses in particular on Sales and HR.

A language and literature academic with expertise in Slavonic studies and computational linguistics, Andreas Meisner has worked in the translation industry since completing his studies, initially for an international translation agency based in Switzerland and then from 2006 for oneword. As part of the management team, his main responsibilities lie in the areas of finance and technology.

    oneword GmbH has experienced steady growth over the last 13 years. It has developed from being a micro-entity to a medium-sized translation agency with 25 employees based in Böblingen, Germany, as well as collaborative translation companies in 29 countries. Apart from being one of only few agencies to be certified in line with ISO 17100, we are also very proud to be a technology leader amongst translation companies.

As an active member of this organisation, oneword provides specialist talks, publications and training on expert topics relating to technical documentation and specialised translation. We also attend and exhibit at the annual congresses and trade fairs.

    Deutscher Terminologie-Tag e.V.   

    Deutscher Terminologie-Tag e.V. (DTT) is a platform for businesses and translators involved in terminology work. As a member of the organisation, oneword participates in regular DTT symposiums to discuss the latest topics and trends. In the organisation’s own terminology magazine, oneword contributes articles on approaches to and experiences with corporate terminology management.

    Established in 2005, the European Language Industry Association (Elia) is a network of language service providers in Europe. oneword actively participates in numerous Elia events and initiatives, which provides regular opportunities to share information with other language service providers and translation partners.
