FAQs
How can I apply to work as a freelance translator or post-editor?
First of all, please check whether you meet the requirements for working with us (see above). If so, you can contact us via our application portal. We will review your documents and get back to you as soon as possible if we are interested.
What criteria do I need to meet to work with you?
At least one of the following requirements: a degree in translation; another university qualification with at least two years’ proven full-time translation experience; or, if you do not hold a degree, at least five years’ professional full-time translation experience.
Plus: you translate only into your native language, use standard computer-aided translation software (e.g. Trados Studio, memoQ, Across or Transit NXT), are happy to undertake a short test translation and agree to a framework agreement.
What does oneword’s application process look like?
You can apply via our application portal. We will then create a candidate profile in oneTask and review your documents. If you meet the requirements, we will invite you to undertake a short test translation. Once you’ve passed this, you’ll receive the framework agreement and DPA – and then you’ll be part of our network.
Will I be paid for the test translation?
No, unfortunately we cannot provide remuneration for the test translation. But we’ll keep the text as short as possible (max. 250 words) as we know how valuable your time is. As an ISO 17100- and ISO 18587-certified company, we are committed to this type of quality assurance.
