About oneword – our social engagement
Making a difference through languages.
Responsibility beyond our day-to-day work
At oneword, we firmly believe that communication builds connections. This conviction shapes not only our collaboration with clients and partners, but also our social engagement.
We support projects in the areas of diversity, child welfare and education – where language, dialogue and participation play an important role.
Language brings people together – and can make a difference.
Language provides access to knowledge, facilitates communication and opens up new opportunities. As an international translation service provider, we see every day just how important cultural diversity and mutual understanding are for successful collaboration. That is why we take on responsibility beyond our day-to-day work and support projects that are particularly close to our hearts.
Our social engagement
For diversity and respectful coexistence
Landkreis Böblingen bleibt bunt e. V.
Diversity and openness are key foundations for successful communication. That’s why oneword supports the "Böblingen District Remains Diverse" campaign, launched by District Administrator Roland Bernhard.
The campaign promotes openness to the world, diversity and respectful coexistence, and opposes racism, discrimination and exclusion.
As a company operating internationally, we know just how valuable cultural diversity is. Different perspectives enrich collaboration and foster understanding across borders.
For children and better prospects for the future
Support for nph Kinderhilfe Lateinamerika e. V.
Since 2010, oneword has been supporting nph Kinderhilfe Lateinamerika e. V. with translation services and helping to raise the international profile of its content and aid projects.
The organisation supports vulnerable children in Latin America and the Caribbean, providing them with a safe home, an education and new prospects.
In recognition of this support, oneword has already received several awards as a socially responsible company in Baden-Württemberg.
For the next generation in the language industry
Sharing knowledge and nurturing talent.
The future of the language sector begins with sound training and collaboration between higher education institutions and the professional world. That’s why oneword has been supporting students and young professionals for many years, offering insights into the wide range of career paths within the professional language industry.
As part of the Studium Professionale programme at the University of Tübingen, we regularly organise classes on translation management. In doing so, we provide students of languages and literature, as well as those from other disciplines, with practical knowledge of modern language and translation processes, the latest technologies and the wide range of career opportunities within the industry.
We also regularly participate in activities at the Germersheim Campus of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, such as guest talks, lectures and discussion sessions. In addition, we are available to answer students' and graduates' questions about starting their careers, potential career paths and the requirements of the language industry.
We also support young talent in the region from an early age. As part of the BOGY programme, school pupils gain an insight into the world of professional language services – from professional translation and project management to terminology and modern language technologies.
Through our engagement, we aim to share knowledge, provide guidance and strengthen the dialogue between academia and professional practice in the long term.
